dont think osram would be happy m8

close the door silly...
-
well you can use red plastic to get the red spectrum, its got me boggled why they don't use red phosphor or red glass in grow lights like metel halid or hps
-
Maybe we should use this to grow crops in buildings, in the city. Instead of destroying vast forests and using pesticides.
-
Aren't LEDs supposedly harmful to the eyes? Why arent they wearing protective eyewear? im just curious if leds are really harmful to human eyes.

I looked at the comments expecting to see random people commenting, just trying to get the top comment.
Instead I'm seeing that, but it's smart stuff!
Congrats, every knowledgeable person typing away. -
Can i do this at my home ? I wanna grow gigantor potatoes and make 1 chicken 1 potato dish !
-
If normal plants are green because they "reflect the green light", then why are these ones still green ?
-
well the theory that the world will max out at a sustainability of 10 billion just got a new factor.
-
Sun light is many times brighter, I wonder what the growth rate is like compared to normal sunlight exposure.
We'll need this technology when we travel to the stars. -
BRING BACK CAPTAIN SLOW!

All these comments suggest TV is for simple minds .

My question is how do these plants taste ? Because we know out-of-soil farming exists and can be done but its problem isn't reliability (it needs tons of fertiliser of course) it's taste.
Since the variety of minerals and nutrients in the plants are way lower, their taste is without history or accident, without flavour or character. Simply put, we can grow a carrot without soil but does it taste like one ? -
How are the plants pollinated in this controlled environment ?
-
Those are some funny looking cannabis plants
-
I was kind of expecting to see Huey, Dewey, and Louie tending the plants.
-
Since it's a controlled environment, you potentially won't need to use as many pesticides, if any. The ability to use vertical space is also attractive, maybe we could convert old unused missile silos into vertical indoor farms.
