You can purchase these green onions in your local supermarket. Wash them real well, cut off the green tops and plant the onion root , leave this section at least 1 1/2 inches to 2 inches long.. Soak the rooted section in water to rehydrate then plant in your desired pot and soil.. Place under artificial lighting or a good sunny window . Feed them with organic food such as compost tea, worm castings tea and so on.. Thanks to Paula at https://www.youtube.com/user/Allen2045 for her wonderful worm castings. Watch them regrow and they regrow very fast, harvest them to use fresh or you can freeze or dry the green tops for later use. It is a fun growing experience and it is easy enough to do for anyone even your children .. Teaching them to grow their own food will benefit them for life.. Growing is Fun! How did you grow them in your basement where is almost no sun light? You use normal light bulb or something? Thanks!

What is the depth of your planter? About 3-4"? I just want to know how thick the soil bed should be.

Your cutting off the best part :(

I did as your video shows. But mine came out being hollow in the center and not much smeel of onions compared to those when I first got it from the supermarket. Any idea why mine have have hollow center growth ? I have grim them back from the first growth and the second regrowth is also coming out having hollow centers also :(
Ahy help or advise or did I got a bad batch from the supermarket ? -
loved the video but please get a wooden cutting board - this poor knife does not need to suffer! ;)

What was the worm food?
-
Ruts? My friend says it like that.
-
How many times can you regrow it using the white stem?
-
the white part is the best though
-
How many times did you water the onions?
Please respond ASAP.
Thanks! -
The tray you started the green onions in, doesn't have any drainage holes! They are going to rot fast...onions do not like to sit in soggy soil......

thanks! very useful and informative; i'll try this soon 😃

thanks for showing me the vdo. it's a good lesson for me

Thank you for your video. Question: How often can you do this "regrow" method and wouldn't doing this too often, drain all the nutrition/vitamins etc. out of the plant?
