Growing Beans in the Greenhouse
This is my bean trellis success. It uses a single gutter reservoir topped by two gutters attached together to serve as the soil container which is really only composted rice hulls. Every 8 inches or so, I looped a rayon wick (mop head strand) from the bottom reservoir up through the hulls on one side, then over to the other side and down back into the reservoir. The wicks do just that. They wick water/nutrient fertilizer up to the beans. As the beans mature, they send roots into the reservoir for direct consumption, and grow up the trellis where they produce for easy pickin'.
