Ground reality of compensations offered to farmers for crop damage
In this episode of Prime Time, we visit a village in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh where farmers show us the extent of damage that their crops have undergone due to the recent rains. Although governments announce compensation to farmers whose crops get damaged due to weather, farmers here claim that no officer even comes to assess the situation and that the authorities use the rules to their advantage and avoid paying compensation to the affected people.
