I was about 20 feet from the stage....I just searched "Day Tripper" and "Cumberland County Civic Center" and got this. One of my favorite shows., I still have the bootleg of this somewhere. Walking out into the snow and couldn't figure out if I was still in an "altered state". Thanks for posting.

Maine had some good shows and moments. oxford plains, lewiston fair grounds with like a 20+ minute Sugaree, augusta, cccc, alfond arena UMO and some other college gigs. When i am down i turn up the dead and nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile :-)

never heard a crowd react like that since. although pulling box of rain out in hampton beach was somewhat distant second. if you went to enough shows you had a moment.

2nd show after Augusta. it snowed one night..april fools i believe. daytripper was one of those moments you never forget. the level of human ecstacy literally steals your face right off your head. got tix face value 15 mins before show started. 13.50 hahaha

The shows on this tour were beyond fun. Before the masses descended on the scene and ruined it. Such great memories of this show! Walking around in shorts before it and coming out of it to a major snowstorm. We got lost trying to get back to my friends house and drove around for hours in the storm. We did not care about it cause we were lit.

I have listened to hundreds of hours of Dead tapes, went to hundreds of shows and watched hundreds of youtube videos and Voodoonola your Youtube posts are the best they sound the best and capture what it was like to be there and relive it years later. Thank you!!!!

Anyone remember if there was a freak snow storm that started when we left this show? I believe it was this show that as I drove back to boston the huge snowflakes swirling in my headlights and whipping over the windshield w/o touching was too much to drive through. We stopped at a hotel just off the turnpike and begged a stay with no money. We were in no condition to drive and I promised to send a check the next week. The good folks agreed, we slept a few hours and headed home. Sent a check the next pay day with a letter of thanks. Love Maine. And loved this show.

This is the Shit!! Daytripper Indeed!!
-
look at the crowd dancing behind the stage.... awsome.

This was my second show. I was 15 and we were right on the floor. Hometown shows in Portland, Augusta, Oxford Plains were the best. I didn't realize until a couple years later what an amazing show this was, esp the Day Tripper. A couple years later in 86, I think, they pulled out Tom Thumb Blues and the roof went off the place. Amazing venue for a Dead show. Saw 6 or so shows at CCCC over the years.
