Golden Rice and Why You Should Not Fund Greenpeace

1. Also golden rice is fantastic and the sort of GM that we all should approve of. Don't like roundup ready though, because it is simply a cudgel that Monsanto has used beat anyone not buying their seed and herbicides to death with. Figuratively.
2. Myles, if you only found out about Greenpeace being dicks a year ago, you haven't been paying attention. They have been extremely vocal and belligerent in their crusade against the peaceful use of nuclear technology, are against all forms of genetic modification, period, and had a lot of other anti prosperity and arguably anti science stances.
   
   Personally I stopped giving them any credence whatsoever when some years ago they stopped the shipment of a container of computers from my country, Australia, to some destination in Africa. That's right, working, older model computers, to Africa, to be either sold or donated to impoverished people lacking computers, on the grounds they were "toxic waste" and we shouldn't be "exporting our toxic waste problems to other countries". Presumably it was OK for Australians to have the same computers but we can't export them to Africa because we just can't have dark people with "toxic" computers that can do actual useful computation. They are anti science and anti human prosperity arse hats.

This Greenpeace organisation is going to be superseded as with all too big to fail, they get big they lose the plot, they lie ... awaiting a new group who still stands for something, greenpeace2 , it's just evolution.. but in the meantime they will cause a lot of carnage to poor brown people, typical with white man organisations, few do good, few control it to do evil and majority are lazy middle class hipsters who go quick to protest and don't read or educate themselves in science because the rich white kids think they are all so important in saving the darkies who work to keep their livings standards and western levels.

6. I believe that Greenpeace are good people who sincerely want to build a better world, but a lot of them lack the scientific and economic literacy to know what is and isn't good for the environment and for people, and so they often end up doing more harm than good.

16. there is an enormous price to pay in the long run by genetically engineering food...The food you eat naturally has survived ice ages and floods and droughts along with you and your ancestors.There is no guarantee any thing you modify is going to live through that...and probably will not

18. Golden Rice is a hot-button issue for me. I hate how the organic food movement is hijacking the narrative and, quite literally, killing third world children because they don't want to eat GM food.
19. I will be the 1st to admit that eating any food that contains more nutrition than you are used to is good; but, at what cost? My dad had horrible eating habits. After coming home from the hospital, he had boundless energy and could play golf all day. After 2 weeks, though, his energy level sank to almost nothing. All we could think of, was, he was eating better food for a few weeks. Now, the question I ask myself, since my dad died more than 20 years ago is: is hospital food good for you? Perfect analogy, with respect to golden rice, I think. Starving people are going to do good, short term, on better food. But, at what cost?
