Opponents of GMO foods are simply afraid of science.

Imagine this, Mang Hardo didn't know the seeds that he is using are owned by Monsanto. He found out it gives lots of fruits. So pinadami niya ang seeds. Nang nalaman ng mga experts(pain scIentists) ng Monsanto. Then, si Mang Hardo got sued and must pay fine for using the seeds. All Mang Hardo could say is, Hindi ko alam. So, what's this GMO targeting is control the food, you control hunger and its people, ownership of food and livinghood. Monopoly is the name of the game. What's next, water?

Most GMO's company needs are legislative haven. Why? Because they can produce more modified foods. The problem, farmers and the population hate the food if its run by corporations. Modified corn was the caused of the obesity. GMO products was to blame of many modified processed food related to illnesses. Many scientific experts don't wanna talk about it of fearing losing their jobs. The food industry, is part of monopoly of controlling the food, nothing else! Just like the Kyoto Protocol Plan!

GMO's has been uncovered by many research institutions and scientists. Its been known for the past 30 years. Organic farms doesn't need money from the government or public. That's why in US, dairy products are labeled with Non or GMO products. I said about patent rights of the seeds. Who should it be patented to who? You didn't mention it by the way. GMO seeds are a threat to every farmers. By just a stroke of the pen, and its rights of ownership of the seeds. They're gone! Read more buddy!

you might also want to look at the recently published Italian study, that compiled over 1000 studies on gm crops that were completed over 10 years, this effort took 1 year to complete, and found in favor of gm crops, with no negative health effects, and real environmental benefits.
-
wow so that basically the complete opposite of the scientific consensus on gm crop, the only scientist saying anything bad about gm crop have clear conflicts of interest and usually direct financial links to the organic industry which is far bigger than the gm seed industry, the "science that they have managed to produce is at it best increadbly weak and not significant, and at its worst is pathetic lies and unethical procedures including prolonged pain and suffering of research animals.

two minutes of research you would find out that golden rice is being released with no royalties charges to the poorest farmers with families with vitamin deficiency.

We all going to die anyway.

Dont let Monsanto take over the Philippines!

Who is patenting this new modified grain rice? If its patented GMO's, the farmers lose the fight, and the consumers. The reality is, there is no food shortage. There is a shortage of lacking of money, particularly the poor and the unfortunate populations. This bio-corporations and governing agency might have a good intentions, but why they're advocating it, when the whole scientific communities doesn't and reviews see it not as a safe way of consumption. Failed government policy on poverty is.
-
It's a profit-driven venture for those greedy corporations!!! Those scientists claiming that it will help address food shortage or whatnot are being paid to say so. Genetic scientists around the world are not in agreement about GMOs being absolutely safe for human consumption. Animal testing have shown adverse effects. There is a huge cover up! In order for us to have more nutritious diets it is our duty to incorporate fruits and vegetables to ensure a balanced diet.
