Nice dog and nice people, too. :)

I received my first German Shepherd as a gift from my parents when I was 10 years old. I've owned 2 others since then. They fantastic dogs. I once heard a highly respected trainer say that a German Shepherd Dog may not be the best dog at anything, but they are probably the second best dog at everything. I give them the highest recommendation.

German shepherd have the second strongest bite force(238 pounds) of all domestic Dog. Rottweiler have the strongest(327 Pounds) and American pitbull with a bite force of 230 pound Humans bite force is around 75 pounds.

GSDs are the best overall dog by far. But if anyone tries to attack you, Smash would smash them to pieces :)

Can anyone give me suggestions on reputable GSD breeders or Kennels in India, I want to adopt one, preferably working line but show line suggestions are welcome as well

My German Shepherd is exceptionally bright and has great compassion. I have not trained her for a service dog as I was never expecting to be disabled from occasional injuries. She, without being taught to do this, reasons if I have trouble walking and am in a wheel chair or using a cane, that I can't get to the phone then she has gotten it for me when it rings without my asking her. She has picked up my cane when I could not reach the floor. I am better now, but what a dog!
We also have a Siberian Husky. The Husky is 13 now while the GSD is 6 years old. The Husky has begun to slow down and is more tired now. But in the summer, both dogs like to eat ice cubes. If he is too tired to come and get the ice, she picks up some ice in her mouth and carries it to him as he retreats to our master bedroom.
She is very smart and understanding of illness and her ability to sense what to do, is amazing. I never expected that we'd ever have such an exceptional dog. She loves to play, also with our grandson who is 3 years old. She is incredibly gentle with him and plays tirelessly when they visit, then sleeps very soundly when my son and his wife take him home.
Both my dogs know how to give and receive love, but with the German Shepherd,is really having a partner who helps do whatever I may have need of. She is incredibly smart. -
Actually, the American Pitbull is the most versatile breed. The german shepherd is versatile too, but it says most versatile, and that is not right. But first a little about the American Pitbull. American Pitbulls were bred as farm dogs that would help and protect farmers from livestock, especially the bulls. If a bull or whatever tried to attack the farmer, the American Pitbull would take it on and get it under control. They were also used to hunt large animals like wild boar and as pest control for rats, raccoons, rabbits, and other animals that would destroy crops. Them being bred to control bulls led to people using them for combat sports like bull baiting, bear baiting, and boar baiting. When those sports were made illegal, people started to use them for ratting and then against each other in the sport of dog combat. American Pitbulls are stronger, more athletic, tougher, more versatile, and are obviously greater gladiators that have been used to battle bulls and bears in gladiatorial competitions (things that german shepherds have never done). American Pitbulls dominate in strength and athletic sports like weight pulling. I have seen American Pitbull over 12,000 pounds. On top of all that, American Pitbulls possess gameness (something that german shepherds don't have) which they will go to further lengths to do something or get a job done. Here is more info on them for people that like reading over watching videos and learning even more info - http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/americanpitbull.htm
Like it says the American Pitbull was bred as an all-around farm dog, working the farms as a cattle/hog dog. Some chose to turn their talents into the sport of pit-fighting. The breed's tenacity and accompanying strength are unmatched in the canine world. Pitbulls excel in practically every canine task including herding, guarding, hunting, policing, cart pulling and ratting. A Pitbull named Banddog Dread holds more canine working titles than ANY other breed. -

Awesome video. I've been thinking about getting a GSD, but I've been on the fence. I read that they have a high prey drive, and I do have two Labs already and their pups. My biggest fear is the GSD would attack the parents, the puppies or both.
