Thank you. Very good job ! You can rent a room to foreign student travellers (backpackers) who want to stay for 2 or 3 days, that helps to make a profit. Your house has special character.
-
I once knew someone who made a decent living buying old homes and fixing them up to resell, but as you pointed out their are always many things to consider before doing something like that.
-
Very nice job! I like the exposed wood in that overhang.
You mentioned that you plan to re-sell for a profit. Is that why you didn't westernize it inside to make it more comfortable for yourself? -
lmao! Anyone else notice the "NHK" sticker? Or do I just watch too much amine? o.O?
-
Clearly the best tool ever invented is the battery that powers the battery drill!
-
in which town do you live btw?
-
the door is really ugly...pls knock it down...
-
You are doing a great job !!! I remember what it looked like before !!
-
i love watching men build, repair, or fixing things n.n

I like the rustic look of it! And love the "crappy old stick thing" In fact I would try to cover the metal pole, painted or not, as a support rod, it looks real tacky to me! Use brick to layer it all the way up, so it matches the brick, and looks harmonious with that part of the structure. It's all a matter of personal taste of course, and you have done a wonderful job, smart realistic and I think done very tastefully! ;D

6:24 Nihon Hikikomori Kyoukai.

An alternative to this might be to apply wax remover. It is a bit less flammable than gas and more volatile so it will evaporate out entirely.
-
That looks pretty nice that does. Some light stain or varnish to protect it but leave it looking like wood and you'd be set!
-
the old farmhouse before renovating looks very old, but the inside of it looks the new than I expected. anyway , have you found secret savings during renovating? ヽ( ̄▽ ̄)ノ
-
Honestly, it doesn't look too bad. The wood construction seems nicely done. Just seal them with some water sealer (varnish). Good luck.
-
I think a light stain, without varnish, would even out the tones for the wood. Painting something over your head might be a challenge though...
-
you can build a cover for those metal posts!! use slats of wood and build a box around them!! it will look like a solid wooden beam post!!
-
The doorway almost looks like it was for a commercial building, the door and the window/mailslot part looks like they both open outward due to the hinges on the mailslot piece, if that is the case it is pretty handy for wide objects. Is that common in Japan, furniture being too big to fit through the door?
-
i totally agree with you! :D

This fast-forwarded renovation videos reminds me of the time when I was making a house for (with) my Sim =D
