French tobacco farmers on edge over EU subsidies
With Europe's controversial Common Agricultural Policy set for a major overhaul, one of the biggest losers could be tobacco farmers. Reforms mean that from the new year French growers will be losing a crucial, multi-million euro subsidy which, say many, is the only thing keeping them afloat. With fewer consumers taking up smoking, many say that unless the goverment steps in, France's home-grown tobacco industry could be stubbed out for good.Duration: 01:44
