Fish Farm - Mekong River, Southern Vietnam
Under the floating house on the Mekong River is a huge wire cage. It is a floating fish farm. The people tell me that in that wire cage were over 8000 fish ! This is the short clip of feeding time.

Thing is, the fish they raise go by so many different names. You have to watch out. I once ordered a dish called Striped Pangus. It was from a restaurant on the gulf coast so I just assumed it was a saltwater species. Wrong! Pangus is just another name for those oversized catfish they raise in the Mekong. Swai and Basa are two of it's many other names.

I heard the Mekong was full of doodoo. Not long after the Talapia craze hit here, rumors began to surface concerning the cleanliness of the river. I only eat locally raised farm-fish now.
