Minister for Disaster Management Hon. Inia Seruiratu this morning received a plane full of tents from the Chinese Government. 80 tonnes of tents were flown into the country as part of China's aid assistance towards TC Winston relief items. They arrived in a Singapore Airlines Boeing 747 aircraft. In receiving the items Hon Seruiratu thanked the Chinese Government for their assistance. "China is a close partner of Fiji and we are grateful to all our international partners for their assistance and in this case China," he said. "We (Fiji) were short on tents and the arrival today means we will be able to send them to affected Fijians at the earliest." The flight this morning in Nadi and another later today in Nausori are two of eight flights that the Chinese government would send to Fiji as part of their assistance towards rebuilding efforts after TC Winston.
