Beekeeping (or apiculture, from Latin: apis "honey bee") is the upkeep of bumble bee provinces, usually in hives, by people. A beekeeper (or apiarist) keeps honey bees with a specific end goal to gather their nectar and different items that the hive produces (counting beeswax, propolis, dust, and imperial jam), to fertilize crops, or to deliver honey bees available to be purchased to different beekeepers. An area where honey bees are kept is called an apiary or "honey bee yard".
