Farmers' level hybrid rice seed production: BRRI hybrid dhan3, Babuganj, Barisal, Bangladesh

In Barisal a progressive farmer Jalal Akand is producing hybrid rice seed successfully. Lastly he produced the hybrid seeds of BRRI hybrid dhan3. He has got training and technical support from Bangladesh Rice Research Institute (BRRI) and now he became an expert in this field. Every year not only hybrid seeds, he is also producing many inbreed rice seeds also. Now he is a good and reliable source of rice seeds for the Neighboring farmers. He is also associated with different project like CSISA-BD. If he gets proper guidance and cooperation from DAE, SCA and BADC he might be a good seed entrepreneur for the Barisal district indeed.
