Farmers from the United States and to British Columbia in Canada are growing and selling tea in high-priced specialty markets. Nigel Melican, a tea consultant, states that consumers want to pay more for high quality teas versus less for lower quality teas. This niche market is growing 8 to 10 percent each year according to the Tea Association of the United States.
