Tian Tinglei gave up his job in Liaocheng city to return to the country and live among the creepy crawlies, growing nearly one square mile of bug beds. A longtime a lover of creepy crawlies, the 32-year-old got the idea for the cockroach farm after a friend who worked in a pharmacy told him about the use of cockroaches as a cheap source of protein and medication. Cockroaches sell for $16 a kilo, bringing Tian in a comparatively huge wage for the area. 'Roaches shells and oil are used in Chinese medicine to treat everything from heart disease to hepatitis and burns. Report by Sam Datta-Paulin.
