Emotionally-charged Angry Army veteran confronts panhandler 'faking' military connection
'Take off my uniform!': Angry Army veteran confronts panhandler 'faking' military connection to get sympathy Emotionally-charged video shows the moment an angry Army veteran called out a panhandler in Tampa, Florida for faking a military connection by wearing a camouflage uniform. Garrett Goodwin, who spent nearly 10 years in the Army as a combat medic, spotted the allegedly phony veteran while driving down the main road to MacDill Air Force Base on Sunday. When he first spoke with the beggar, Goodwin started to get suspicious since he claimed to be special forces but was wearing a Junior ROTC patch on his uniform. While he can't be 100 per cent certain that the man he confronted isn't a veteran, he says he's positive based on the panhandler's shamed reaction, riding off on his bike after the incident. 'If it turns out he's an honorably discharged veteran, I personally give him $1,000 cash and personally spend the hours that it takes to get him into the VA system,' Goodwin promised in an interview with WTSP. Since posting the video online on Sunday, the clip has been shared more than four million times on Facebook. Many of the commenters believe Goodwin had a reason to confront the panhandler, while others have criticized his intimidating approach. 'I think he owed us an explanation,' Goodwin told ABC Action News, defending the video. 'Some people have called me a bully on the internet, and I think he's a bully wearing a uniform holding up a sign walking up to people's cars in an intersection looking for money. I think he's bullying people out of their money.'

I cannot ... just CANNOT BELIEVE that there are people upset at this man for standing up and representing himself and fellow REAL soldiers. He called a fake out and you expect somebody who served and sacrificed to let that slide, be cool with that?! Maaaannnnn...I am not even IN the military but have friends that have AND still are. I do not blame the vet AT ALL for what he did. Sheeeid, I would have done the same thing.

-
That stupid angry vet should be fighting for freedom right here, instead of worrying about some insignificant panhandler. Fuck that vet. me, Tet Vet.
-
This is how I feel and would have reacted the same way. Most civilians just dont understand.
-

To the fucktards that are saying that it's too small for the "fat guy"... He's saying that he served in that same clothes and not meaning it's his
-
He is a bully Fat Cow he said he had friends killed in that Uniform, if so where are the holes in it, and he said it is his Uniform, really way to small for a fat slob like him, may be he just wanted to see the kid in his Underwear so he could get his jollys,

The person Johnny who sent me a comment about how do I know what these fake military guys that hold up a sign asking for money what they use their money for it is drugs and booze. I have seen them. If they are real veterens they have programs to help them.
-
Great job. Those people are criminals, as well as cowards.
-
i agree with the real army guy

I have to fart!

Point one: I understand it's not cool to act as someone else to cheat and deceive people. A scam. But the guy only had on a pair of fatigues pants. Everybody wear military camo's. We're allowed. It's a free country.Point 2: If he was in fact doing this to pull one over on people shame one them for being stupid or God bless them for showing pit. Sometimes as grown ups we have to just shake ours heads at the dumbasses on move on. I see a bulling crime here that the soldier can get in trouble for.Point 3: The thing I love about vets is they are the first ones to want to take away your constitutional freedoms and shut you up after fighting for our so called freedom. And point: 4 I'm not safer because we're in yet another bullshit war in Afghanistan.

I support this military veteran all the way I'm glad he chewed that guy out he obviously doesn't respect our soldiers, our veterans who have gave their life's for us to keep our freedom who ever decides to pick on this veteran who wants to call the veteran a bully you guys really need to take a hard look at who your picking on judging how he served our country to keep y'all safe last I checked that's not a bully that's a hero so lay off him and if he sees this I want him to know I'm grateful for his service and thank him for keeping our country safe
-
sir, you 100% have my respect!! Unfortunately their are too many willing to believe everyone they come across that needs money. I sympathize, I do, but this is not ok. xoxo
