Embu tea farmers' planned boycott called off

The Kenya Tea Development Agency -KTDA management in Embu County has agreed to address grievances raised by tea farmers to avert a planned tea boycott. K.T.D.A board manager Samuel Ireri held a meeting with the Embu County Government Agriculture Minister Patrisio Njiru and tea farmer’s representatives where they agreed to look into the farmers welfare . Among the issues to be addresed are the time spent in tea buying centres,low monthly payments, low bonus and mini-bonus among others.
