Drip Irrigation System for Orchard-OFWM-Punjab Agriculture Department-Pakistan.

Drip Irrigation System principle is" to provide water, fertilizer etc. directly near the roots of plants according to required quantity". Drip Irrigation System is included in " High Efficiency Irrigation System" (HEIS). Drip Irrigation System save water, fertilizer and labour input cost on crop due to which farmers get more than 10 time profit from crops production as compare to normal growing of crops through traditional irrigation. Drip Irrigation System consist on three major parts (1)-Head Unit, (2)-Pipe Network, (3)-Lateral Pipe & Dipper/Emitter. HEAD UNIT-consist on Pump & Power, Non-Return Valve (NRV), Air Release Valve, Pressure Gauge/Metre, Water Flow Gauge/Metre, Control Valves (Bye-Pass Valve, Inlet Valve, Outlet Valve, Flush Valve, Drainage Valve, Zone Control Valve ), Filters(Primary Filters include Hydro Cyclone Filter & Media/Sand/Gravel Filter and Secondary Filters include Disc Filter, Screen Filter) main function is to clean water by removing impurities including sand, clay particles, algae, bacteria, debris of plants etc., Venturi Injector/Fertilizer Injector/Fertilizer Tank main function is to inject water soluble fertilizer or fungicide etc., in system, to provide near the roots of plants, PIPE NET WORK include Main PVC Line buried under ground 3-4 feet and from main line at different points Sub-Main Lines emerges under ground and from sub-main lines a blind pipe (Low Density Poly Ethylene-LDPE) emerges and brought out on ground which is connected to lateral pipes. LATERAL PIPE & DRIPPER/EMITTER is small hole in lateral pipe from where water is drop near the roots of plants. Drippers are of two kind in respect of installation 1-In Line Dripper/Emiiter which is installed inside of lateral pipe at the time of manufacturing and on line Dripper/Emitter is installed at proper length outside the lateral pipe line. For Drip Irrigation System Water Reservoir could be pond, tube Well, Dug Well etc. Drip Irrigation System is future farming system all through the world including under-development counties.
