Donald Berken has been farming for the past 40 years, following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather. He says it's the only thing he ever wanted to to do. He farms 980 acres of rice and soybeans in Jeff Davis Parish. Berken holds a BS degree from McNeese State University in Agriculture and Business. Donald was most recently recognized as a Louisiana Farmer of the Year finalist. He is a past president of the Jeff Davis Farm Bureau, a board member of the Jeff Davis Rice Growers Association, Vice-Chairman of the Louisiana Farm Bureau Rice Advisory Committee, a member of the Louisiana Rice Research Board and a board member of the Louisiana Soybean Association. Donald and his wife, Charlotte, have two daughters and two sons.
