Something people spend money on trying to remove from their garden. But the Dandelion is a truly amazing herb with many healing uses. Its is an analgesic, a cleanser of the blood, improver of the digestive system it can be used as a healthy coffee substitute. On top of that it has been used as a coloring dye. You can use the root and the blossom. In this video we are going to look at uses of the Dandelion blossom. The blossom of the dandelion has pain relieving properties and can be made into a salve which can be applied to stings, bites and scratches. A Dandelion Salve is a little more involved to make than other dandelion recipes but is still pretty simple. WHAT YOU NEED FOR THIS DANDELION HERB RECIPE - Oil - a good brand of any olive oil - Beeswax - can be brought from health food shops and specialist online stores. Worth having some around as you can use beeswax for quite a few other things. - Lavender essential oil. Lavender has other beneficial properties for pain relief and is a good addition to a dandelion salve. However you don’t have to use it. DANDELION HERB: KEY FACTS - The word Dandelion (Taraxacum official) comes from the french word meaning lion’s tooth. Its is in the daisy family. - It is originally a wild plant from Europe and Asia but has adapted Very well to North America. Like many ‘weeds’ it thrives on disturbed soil and especially prefers moist soil. - The key identifying feature is the deeply toothed leaves. There are a few lookalike plants which do not have so deeply toothed leaves. The plant can taste a little bitter on first try but, like many wild herbs, it is easy to get used to this. - The easiest use is in salads raw or cooked in soups. Id the leaves are slightly older the leaves should be cooked. You can also use the flower blossoms to make a tea. - Dandelion’s main medical uses are for general infections, bile and liver problems such as jaundice or hepatitis and as a diuretic. In herbal remedies it is often applied as an overall cleanser of the system and purifier of the blood. - Dandelion is a frequently used herb in Chinese medicine. - Dandelion is used with the burdock plant to create the drink dandelion and burdock which is very popular in the UK. Great video. You inspired me to get out and harvest some dandelions this week and I've made some dandelion tea and infused oil. I loved the tea and the oil is sitting for a bit. Might just try your salve recipe after. Cheers!

i dont know. i fuckin love dandelions. and i think they're pretty. for some reason they are considered a "weed,"---which happens to be one of the most subjective words in the enlighs language, imo.
