As the population of the Philippines has more than doubled since the 1980s, lands for farming decrease in size to make way for new developments. To compensate, farmers resorted to harsh farming practices that increased their yield but were harmful to the environment. To address this issue, the World Agroforestry Centre and its partners developed a new farming system called Conservation Agriculture with Trees. This system can increase and stabilize crop yields for smallholder farmers with modest investments. For more information, visit our website: www.worldagroforestry.org
