Structural conflicts in energy change. Solar requires different techniques, different locations, different calculations, different infrastructure, different industrial priorities, different company structures, different ownership structures, different legal frameworks and different applications to deliver solar from the sun to the electric trains, buses, schools and street lights. Therefore oil company experts and oil controlled media cannot be permitted to set the pace for transmission from oil to solar. We have to create our own media. Our own ideas. It is obvious carbon trading is a bad idea that is allowing the rich to pollute, by just paying, & so is not really working. Cap & trade is another idea the oil companies love because it allows them to pay to pollute. While the UN meets once a year on climate change, to pull the wool over our eyes, & then announce where they are meeting next year, we have to hold meetings every week, round tables on what new ideas we need to fashion and put forward to speed energy change to solar & wind. Because energy change to solar & wind & RE must be rapid, it cannot be made to depend upon those in Shell Oil who have an economic interest in slowing it down. There are tensions between the opposing energy systems. 1- Solar is unlimited, while gas & Conventional energy is limited and is dying and worse is killing life on earth. 2 - Solar has zero emissions, while gas has emission that kill life. 3 - Structural. Once solar & RE has become cheaper to produce, and home owners are making money selling solar onto the grid, oil companies will still try to block solar, because they know solar will make oil obsolete. Solar is now disrupting the whole organizational structure of coal fired power plants, oil fired power plants, oil tank car train lines, Refineries like Richmond, Calif. If a refinery like Richmond is shut down, and so removed from the energy stream, because it has been replaced by solar panels or wind mills, then this has an immediate effect on the up stream and down stream infrastructure of oil. The primary energy source, like gas fracking, is displaced if someone buys a solar panel. Now the gas company must find a new customer. The location of energy, an oil well off the coast in deep water, is separate from where the energy is used by a home in Arizona. Energy is now used on a global scale. The US maintains garrison states like Israel to protect its oil pipelines in the middle east. The army spills blood to protect the oil. The number of companies is getting smaller every year, concentrating more power & money into fewer & fewer hands. Now money is shifting rapidly to solar, as developing nations like India, Brazil & China begin to make and install more & more millions of solar panels. Money is shifting to solar. That is taking money away from the oil corporations. Once there were a few high voltage transmission lines emanating from a few large coal or oil fired power plants. Centralized corporate power supply controlled by a few rich people. Now we see local networks growing rapidly from roof top solar & solar farms. They are based on widely distributed roof top solar production units around regions. They are generating a whole new solar industry of solar products, new solar technologies needed to harvest solar from every roof top. New electric mass transportation, new solar storage products, new solar powered homes sprouting up all around the world, new electric cars.
