During his visit to Brazil Chinese Premier Li Keqiang on Wednesday encouraged Chinese and Brazilian companies to cooperate with each other in production capacity and equipment manufacturing in a bid to achieve mutual benefit. Before visiting a Chinese equipment manufacturing exhibition, Li said that Chinese and Brazilian leaders had reached an important consensus on carrying out production capacity cooperation. China is willing to cooperate with Brazil side in locomotive manufacturing, ship building, auto making, steel and construction materials, Li said, adding that China will not only export quality and environmentally-friendly equipment to Brazil, but open production lines and spare parts maintenance facilities in Brazil, train local workers and create jobs there. China will also import high-quality farm produce and competitive equipment products from Brazil, Li said. Sino-Brazilian cooperation in production capacity and equipment manufacturing will link China's production capacity and competitiveness in equipment manufacturing with Brazil's economic development and demand for industrial investment, which will be conducive to both countries for mutual benefit, win-win results and common development, Li said. Brazil believes that the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries has provided great potential for further economic cooperation, Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira and Rio de Janeiro Governor Luiz Fernando Pezao both said. Chinese-made subway trains and ferries, both high in quality and at reasonable prices, are welcomed by the Brazilian people, they noted. The Brazilian government welcomes production capacity cooperation with China, and supports Chinese companies participating in local infrastructure projects, including subway, railway, broadband infrastructure, and water facilities, they added. Li also introduced Chinese-made products and technology to senior Brazilian officials and talked with exhibitors. A total of 30 Chinese companies, representing the top-level of equipment manufacturing in China, are showcasing their products at the exhibition, which covers such areas as railway transportation, electricity, information technology and machinery engineering. Brazil is the first stop on Li's four-nation Latin America tour, his first to the region since he assumed premiership in 2013, which will also take him to Colombia, Peru and Chile.
