Chinese greenhouses stimulate african agriculture

In Kenya, Liu Gaoqiong from Nanjing Agricultural University joined an Africa aid project and came to Department of Horticulture, Egerton University, in 1997. Egerton University is Kenya's first Confucius Institute, located in Nakuru county, west part of Kenya. The Center of demonstration for agricultural techniques of Congo, is built and financed by the Chinese government and went into operation in 2012 under an accord between the two governments signed in 2006. During the past three years, the Center has organized nine rounds training program and more than 500 local farmers have been taught of the advanced planting technique. In Senegal, Starting from October 2006, according to a bilateral agreement, thirteen Chinese agro-technicians have been sent to Senegal to work in two planting technology demonstration bases on vegetable and on rice respectively. Chinese agronomists also give training lessions in 35 demonstration sites.
