According to China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), industrial output grew 6.1 percent year on year in May. The figure was higher than the 5.9-percent growth in April and 5.6 percent in March, the lowest monthly level since December of 2008. The data pointed to tentative signs of improvement for the world's second largest economy.
