Wind power capacity in China is expected to grow five-fold over the next ten years, reports AFP Wednesday morning. Greenpeace, the Chinese Renewable Energy Industries Association and the Global Wind Energy Council published the report and predict that China's total installed wind power capacity will reach 150 gigawatts by 2020. A Greeenpeace representative stated, "China is at a crossroads, It can choose between the dirty, dangerous world of coal and fossil fuels, or the new, clean future promised by wind. The answer is obvious." The country ranked second in the world in 2009 for installed wind generating capacity.
