China is the biggest producer of green house gases, their water is extremely contaminated and their people are suficating under the smog. The reason why we in the USA are not producing enough green energy is because we have owners AKA lobbyists and a do nothing congress that doesn't even believe in evolution. About 75 percent of United States citizens want renewable energy! But remember democracy in USA is a facade our real government is an osterical plutocracy, that has democracy in a deathly chokehold!

it's very easy to solve all the world's electricity problems just build six solar power plants for North America in Nevada somewhere for South America in the Atacama desert in Africa in the Sahara which can pump electricity for both Africa and Europe in Western Asia in the Rub al Khali Desert of Saudi Arabia Eastern Asia in the Gobi/Taklimakan Deserts and in Australia in the outback there world electricity problems solved

im all for solar power and green energy , but dont solar panels , wind mills, ect. use rarre earth materials that are very hard to extract? and i heard 95% of rare earth materials come from china and when they are extracted it is a very dirty process to extract them? i really would like to know the truth on this cuz i never hear green energy proponents mention rarre earth materials.

It's called being used and abused! People here have become so indulged with meaningless shit that they or most don't have the capacity to see what is happening right before their eyes. The U.S. will become a third world country as these crooks use us dry, they don't care about us only about themselves. It will be left to the people to turn this around because clearly our government officials do not have the will to do so. Peace
-
Honestly, good! They really need it
-
china's renewable energy only covers 10% of their usage.

Fukushima happens, and in:
- Germany, even the ruling conservatives, who are traditionally `pro-nuclear´ decide it is time to abandon this irresponsible, unsafe technology, that produces waste that stays radioactive for tens of thousands of years once and for all.
- America, ruling pseudo-leftist Obama declares, that America will now, even after around 30 years without additional nuclear power plants begin to build even more nuclear power plants than there already are in America. No limits to stupidity. -
Okay everyone who knows nothing should shut the fuck up about it, included the commentators who didn't do their homework. Yes china is building a plant that will be hopefully ready in 5 years, good for them. Don't fucking act like we aren't doing jack shit in America at all. Where is the current largest plant in the fucking world? US - Cali. Started putting out electricity February 17th of this fucking year; where was that story? Yeah sure we COULD invest more in solar energy, but frankly it's something gradual as it should be. Don't act like we're not looking into these things - I mean just take portland as an example! Many cities are looking to do what they did as well. The real problem are the local citizens unwilling to speak the fuck up and actually help their city make plans to do anything. They just expect the Fed gov to make shit happen outa nowhere? Pisses me off.

Is this why the some are claiming the Senator Reid and China want the Bundy cattle off BLM land? So China can build a large solar plant in Nevada.

China, Saudi Arabia, and The United Arab Emirates are going to solar because of a few reasons that we don't grasp here in America. The UAE is going solar because they want to keep selling all the oil to us Americans for a fat profit, and I also assume they don't want to deal with the pollution as well. China has a huge pollution problem and massive energy demands that will continue to grow, so that makes all the sense in the world.
Why America is not doing anything is because like +David Pakman says, we have no political will, massive corruption, and the American people, a majority of us are still comfortable and really believe that we still have tons of cheap energy as long as we keep drilling. It's that delusion that's fed by all the corporate welfare taxpayers give out to oil companies that keeps our gas artificially low, and Americans hooked on oil. -
Well its like I've been saying... What does money and religion have in common? They both get in the way of progress. No joke.
-
David: "We have all the resources in the world." Er, no; no, you don't. You depend on imported oil.
-
With the Price point of Solar now just falling below Coal. I don't think any amount of lobbying can stop the technology. In order to maintain the status quo the government would have to levy a tax on solar panels-- as is done in Greece.

Fuckyasustainableenergy!!!

The race to combustion zero will be won or lost by how we deal with the people who have our officials by the nose.
-
There you go...
-
China is losing 1.5M people a year due to coal related illness. Can't even imagine the cost for care. It's a money thing for them which is what it will have to be in the U.S. as well. It's the only thing that talks.
-
ROFL; an American company must have just said F it; we'll go to China; because politicians at home were asleep?
-
Dependancy is the keyword. Off the grid the medicine. China, US, EU, we all want to be enslaved and pay for the sun, the wind, life... oh, and bailouts once they fail and they will...
