China 500w 24v Turbine.mpg
This was a cheap $350.00 500w wind turbine I bought off ebay from China it was listed for low wind areas with 5 MPH start up speed, I was pissed at the seller cuz he listed EMS or FedEx shipping & he sent it China Post the beginning of November, I was on a race against the weather as I wanted to install it while the weather was still above 10c, so it got lost for over 8 weeks so I bought the other one the Apollo From Vancouver then the beginning of Jan they found this one. Cheaper construction, thinner #14 wire & a cast tail fin, better split type mount does not require as much effort to turn it but I don't think its really 550w peak 500 rated more like 300 rated by the size of the wire, blades are stiffer but not warped & better sloped than the apollo not as much tip stalling a feature they use to control the speed in high wind, this one does work but in very strong winds it starts turning @ 12-15 MPH starts producing power @ 20 with a nice steady output @ 25 MPH winds, so thats a little high for my location so I will probably sell it in the summer.

WTH? No, wind turbine works at 8 km/h, where did you get that idea??? What did you get at 16 km/h? That is just the low end of power...turbines are rated at 45 km/h....

Hi,
Did you manage to get actual kWh s out of this one ? If so how many per month ?
I have about 1000$ to put on a small wind turbine, do you have any recommendation to make ? -
They have gigu new with built in controler 550 w is this. Worth of buy

this wind turbine blades is glass fiber blades.

as I recall it was -8 to -10c around that time, last year was a mild winter with only a few -17c days, the worst is when we get days of -25 to -30c thru Jan & Feb nothing to do but stay in & crank up the pellet stove lol

the first one"greenergystar Apollo" I bought from a seller in BC Canada so it only cost me $30.00 to return it, this smaller one came from china so I traded it for a couple of solar panels.
-
ya my lot has too many trees for a wind turbine as like you said the return shipping to china is too expensive so I ended up trading the turbine for 2x 100w solar panels
-
Don't know exactly where you are at but my guess is that return shipping will cost more than the damned thing is worth. Shipping from China to Canada or USA is only 20% of trying to get it back there..

Roger that looks damn cold mate.

this one here that i have may not be the prettiest turbine youve seen but pretty does not get you power. and this thing here will do 1kw in 20mph over 2kw in 30mph peak power ive seen and documented has been over 2.6kw made by me with the help of Cris Olson

sorry to say man but you know the old saying you get what you pay for.check out my channel if your really intrested in a power maker

with my 550w I noticed because of the strong magnets in these units they require a lot of power to turn them, the current blade design is garbage, with mine their was too much "Tip Stalling" so the blades were fighting them selves & it would not spin, if you just bought it, file a paypal dispute then they will respond to you, don't return it under sellers policy or you will loose both shipping + a re stocking charge, wait for paypal to tell U to return it that way you will only loose 1 shipping

I have a 650 watt Apollo that I have on my boat. It will spin up with the wires not connected to the controller. But once connected it will not produce any voltage when hooked to a battery. Again prior to hooking it to the battery it produces voltage but then slows down to minimal rpm, thus no voltage. I can not get any help from the Sellers on ebay. Ebay should stop the sale of this brand wind generator. Its junk!!!
