CALAMONDIN ORANGE Update : Best Indoor Citrus Plant | Miniature Orange - Part 2
Calamondin Orange - miniature orange : Best Indoor Citrus Plant - Part 2 . Calamondin orange is also sometimes called miniature orange. Its fruits are as decorative as real oranges, but although they are edible they are also very bitter. A close relative of the true orange, which can also be grown indoors, the calamondin orange is a dwarf shrub with shiny, green, leathery leaves. It bears fragrant, white flowers and tiny, one-inch oranges, often both at the same time. The fruits are edible but so bitter they are usually used only in marmalade. They can remain on the shrub for many months.

Stop calling it Orange. You just said that there's a sour taste to it and the fruit you sampled was as ripe as its gonna get. That means its a sour fruit and if thats the case, then its certainly a Calamansi fruit from the Philippines, used like a lemon. Question: You said you were going to make a marmalade, so how did that turn out? Probably the most sour marmalade ever eh. Its a Calamansi, sour (lemon) fruit.

Its not an orange. The fruit will never be sweet, as oranges are. Its a Calamansi (Calamondin) tree. Californian nurseries agree that its origins are from the Philippines and that its a lemon, not an orange. Its actual true name is Calamansi. Although, it is sour (package with vitamin C), there's some really good recipes out there... ie. the Filippino lemonade, yum.

Can you please do a video on how to prune this tree? I have one and the branches are getting very long?

I bought a plant this morning and your videos were wonderful. Thanks for all your good advice.Your plant is amazing because of your tender care. Mine is just leaves so wish me luck! Can I put it on a screened porch or deck for the summer the temperature will be in the 90's some days?
