((TAKE SOT (PACKAGE) FULL)) (NAT SOUND RODEO ANNOUNCER) ((SOT: KAYLA NICHOL)) (CG: KAYLA NICHOL, AGRICULTURE SCIENCE JUNIOR, CAL POLY RODEO MEMBER) SOT: “I would say that a big thing that people misunderstand about rodeo is just the way we treat our animals and the fact that they're athletes. A lot of people don't take that into consideration, they just think that we use animals as tools, and that's not really the case.” (NAT SOUND RODEO ANNOUNCER AND CROWD) ((SOT: CHASE BOWEN)) (CG: CHASE BOWEN, BIOLOGY JUNIOR, CAL POLY RODEO MEMBER) SOT: "It's just one of these things that doesn't become a hobby, it doesn't become something that you just do. It's an actual way of life and it's a lifestyle. And that's what I really cherish about rodeo, this is my family." ((SOT: BEN LONDO)) (CG: BEN LONDO, CAL POLY RODEO COACH) SOT: “People and getting more and more fans from the university that didn't even know we had a program. And we've, in fact, got probably one of the oldest college rodeo programs in the country, and probably the strongest tradition and legacy.” ((SOT: KATIE RICE)) (CG: KATIE RICE, AGRICULTURE COMMUNICATIONS JUNIOR, CAL POLY RODEO MEMBER) SOT: “The bulls are also treated really well. They're turned out on green grass. A lot of times they're pretty tame and you can go up and pet 'em, or get pretty close to 'em. They're not wild like you see 'em in the arena, they know when their job is and when to do it, and they also know when they're done and get to relax and hang out in the nice green pastures on free feet.” (NAT SOUND COWS MOOING) ((SOT: MEG MCNAMARA)) ((CG: MEG MCNAMARA, EQUINE SCIENCE SOPHOMORE, CAL POLY RODEO QUEEN)) SOT: "This rodeo in particular, since it is our 75th, we treated it like a grand reunion, a grand annual event. So we just got a lot more sponsors, we had a lot more money put into this program for this specific rodeo, it was the 75th. We got lots of great belt buckles and awards and everyone was more pumped and more excited to be able to be like 'this is our 75th, we have been here 75 years.'"
