Birds Plucked Alive on Farms Linked to 'Responsible' Down Suppliers
Eighty percent of the world's down and feathers come from China, so PETA and PETA Asia went there to document how these feathers are often obtained. Eyewitnesses saw workers at these farms—several of which were traced to so-called "responsible" suppliers—rip geese's feathers out while they were fully conscious, causing excruciating pain and leaving open, bloody wounds. Farmers and others who deal with these so-called "responsible" and "non live-pluck" suppliers bragged to eyewitnesses about producing or selling live-plucked down, and one even admitted to misleading consumers. China is always make something peaceful a hell on earth . Why consumers need just down products? while there are way better alternatives such as gel microfiber fill ,which is way comfortable than any down feather item . I'm working with some of the top bedding and fashion brands who currently supplies products to my home and even they use gel micro fiber ,and I totally love Ralph Lauren's down alternative comforter and it doesn't get thin with the time .down normally get flat and bad after like 6 washes .

PETA, I have tried on nearly a hundred coats (many synthetic) trying to find one warm enough to withstand harsh norther Canadian winters... and there is no synthetic jacket that comes close to the warmth of a down jacket. It's terribly unfortunate, but for some reason the technology for extremely warm synthetic jackets just doesn't exist.

At the end of the day after all these posts, if there is no demand then there is no point for slaughter. The question really comes down to can your resist and not go for the cheaper coat/pillow
People will hate me for saying this but I have to provide for my family. I will choose the cheaper one to save some bucks for my family then I shall. My bottom line is my family is my priority and everything else comes second. Sorry but I don't have the high moral principles like you guys do. -
