Bike Ride through Rice Fields in Rural Thailand (Thanon Hak, Nang Rong, Buriram, Isaan) by http://live-less-ordinary.com/. The first 17 minutes are a bit boring as I follow the route back through rice fields bumping along rural country lanes. I pass typical rustic scenery in rural Thailand and Isaan incl. Farm houses, rice paddies and lakes. I also get chased by countless dogs which is normal here. At around 17:30 of the bike ride I reach a somewhat empty temple compound where I enter a seemingly abandoned temple (20:00). A large Buddha still presides in the temple but the doors have been shut for a while now which I am guessing due to the need for repairs. I then leave the temple to sit at the lake opposite (28:00) only to be disturbed by a bunch of buffaloes which comes out from the lake and forest next to me. I’m then back onto the bike as I cycle round the small village of Broken Road before I return back to our house nearby. The location is in Buriram in an expanse of rice fields next to Thanon Hak (Broken Road) a small village in the Nang Rong region of Buriram Province. The bike ride starts after I get lost in the maze of rice fields and come to a dead-end along a rural country lane. This is where I turn back to cycle towards Broken Road.
