not sure i agree with "synthetic fertilizers killing the soil microbes" i think it's more accurate to say its not feeding the soil microbes the organic matter they need to survive/thrive. same result in the end though.

Oh crap John!!! I really love your style, you're an amazing human being! But check this out, When you're holding down to earths micorizza in your hands I couldn't help but see AVID 0.15 EC on the next shelf up. That stuff is crazy strong and should be behind the counter. I recommend GREEN CLEANER from OLD AGE ORGANICS. That stuff rocks! Please recommend that product to these guys, Mother Earth will thank you 🐳

HELP! Can anyone help me with a soil mix for organic vegetable gardening in containers? I'm completely overwhelmed and lost. I don't own a car and rented one to pick up items that were suggested to grow vegetables organically in containers. I bought Pro-Mix BX and some other items but after some research I've become totally confused as I don't think it's organic. I had to go the hydroponics store as finding items in my area proved difficult. They also sold me Botanicare Pure Blend Pro which I think is specifically for growing cannabis, not vegetables. I also purchased 2 small (3 litre) bags of Rubicon Worm Castings (they only had small bags) and Gaia Glacier Rock Dust and Fafard Sea Compost. If I had a car I would take it all back and buy some already mixed organic vegetable mix for containers. I bought some last year and it sucked so I thought making my own would be better and cheaper. As you can see, I just created this youtube account looking for some help. I appreciate anyone's time and help if possible. I've watched hundreds of John's youtube videos however applying that wisdom is where I'm stuck. <grin> All of my plants are sitting outside waiting for me and I'm so lost I don't know if I can just mix all these products together and hope for the best or if I should do something else. Sorry for the long post. LOVE LOVE LOVE your vids John! Thank you for the most precious commodity we have, the giving of your time. Again, my thanks for anyone willing to advise me.

Hey John, I been growing a vegetable garden for 3 years now here in Illinois. Each year I have a fungus I think on my vine plants. Their leaves get white spots on them. How can I cure this?
Thank you for your videos, I love watching them. I get so addicted to my garden in the summer and plan it all winter. Right now I'm trying to at least grow enough green beans to last our family a year, well 9 months I read they well keep good in deep freeze. And we are trying to teach our kids how good fresh produce is, and a way to save money, plus it's kind of therapy time will out in the garden. It's very good type of bonding time with them. -
I'm a pacifist so the gun analogy didn't appeal to me.

Bloody Girlfriends, lol. I could listen to your knowledge all day. I'm an Aussie (Australian) so your seasons are way out compared to mine locally but the information you provide is second to none, Awesome stuff. My belief is that EVERYONE should have a garden of some sorts (bucket or paddock) , especially if your in Australia (my backyard) with our big backyards and lots of sunshine. Australia technically began in 1788, we were great then ( when we were criminals apparently, lol ). Since then self-sufficiency has gone out the window, if the Supermarkets closed for a few days most people in this country would turn vigilante. As far as gardening goes I dont do tea's and all that stuff, all I do is put manure, Lime or gypsum (depending) and fireplace ash on the garden beds when they are in "resting" periods. I don't use Fertilizer, rock dust or any of that stuff because ; 1. It costs money
2 Nature seems to work itself out REALLY good so I try and use those processes, their free ( yes, I'm a tightarse, lol). Keep the video's coming man, we ALL love your work. :) -

crushed Oyster shell are one of the best things to use for keeping snails and slugs away from plants. just crush them up or buy a bag which is real cheap then spread on the top of soil around your plants. The shells are very sharp to soft belly pest and they will run the other way. Now another really good thing using Oyster shell is all that they will provide to your plants. Oyster shell contains a bounty of nutrients, most prominently calcium. Other nutrients include copper, cobalt, phosphorus, manganese, zinc, magnesium, potassium, chromium, iron, selenium, molybdenum, glucose, taurine, and vitamins A, B1, B2, D, and E. Not sure if you knew that or said it in other videos you have done, if not I hope that info helps.

Have you ever thought about writing a book john?,i think you could you probably could,id buy it,you could make several books,i've learned a lot from you and am a new gardener and trying to go completely raw and really dove straight into things and i'm having trouble having enough recipes to eat my food in,i have a curry i make, spaghetti squash and eggplant dish, falafels, and dish what i call noodle madness which is just a bunch of veggies and some nuts in a pasta, but i'm trying to get away from any processed food whatsoever,my point being that you could write a raw food book or something that people like me can benefit from, just a though you have a lot of info,it might get people to stop asking many questions and buy a book from you.Although the cool thing about what you do is that it's virtually free and stuff, but i think your info is worth a least slightly more than that, and i appreciate the information you are spreading to people and encouraging people to grow food and sustain themselves.I find it hard to good information and raw diets can really mess you up if not done right and i can see how people get discouraged, its not easy, but i believe its what people are gonna have to learn to do if they truly want a happy healthy life.Take care!
