Hi, great video. I'm about to begin my backyard beekeeping journey this spring in NC. Three quick questions, 1. Where did you buy your hives from? 2. Did you stain them yourself? 3. Were you lucky enough to harvest anything the first year?
-
how many lbs of honey PER COLONY do you get on the second year, or consecutive year?
-
really? you do this in the city and you're going to tell us your bees don't come into contact with pesticides, herbicides, fungicides??? I call bullshit. in the summer people spray so much crap on their lawns you can smell it in the air. also, what kind of selfish douche has bees this close to other homes??? if I was your neighbors I'd be complaining. this is why people do this in the country on farms...

someone doesn't understand how an window air conditioner works... lol

Liking to add a hive next year for honey and garden health. Any tips for a new beekeeper?
-
Bees need enough honey to fully sustain themselves year round, don't they? Sugar/sugar water must be toxic for them. How do you determine how much to leave for their preparedness and sustainability? What does your beehive group teach about colony collapse? I think toxic sugar is a contributing factor.

That AC is doing literally nothing if it's not mounted in a window. You're fighting fire with fire, trying to cool a room where hot AC exhaust is being let out into. There is a reason the backside normally hangs outside.
Lovely video though and beautiful honey!! -
How many frames did you extract honey from?
-
:D im lucky i found a giant bee hive
-
please explain how you get organic honey. how do you stop the bees from feeding on non organic plants.
-
Bees do not leave the bee hive in a forest fire. They remain with the queen and since the queen isn't able to fly they go up with the bee hive. Queen bees are too heavy to fly in most cases. Reports on forest fires and bee keepers is 100% loss

Great Video!
You need a bigger place.

Here in my garage with my 50 pounds of honey do you know what I like more than these pounds of honey knowledge that's why I have these box of honey
-
Quick question.... Do you feed your bees sugar anytime of the year? And do you have honey for sale? You can't possibly eat all that honey.. Come on share!!! Lol!
-
i only watch these vids because it looks cool when he removes the caping
-
You gotta be real careful when you leave your extracting gear or ect with honey on it, it will cause robbing of the hives.
-
Is that a window air conditioner? Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't those put heat out the back, so if it's in the same room as you, wouldn't it just cancel its self out?
