In this travel video we explore a Bamboo Forest in Damyang, South Korea. Daenamugol Bamboo Park (대나무골) was an interesting experience. Although it was overcrowded and packed with Korean tourists, we were able to find some quiet spots along the way. It's certainly a touristy place equipped with plenty of cheesy inanimate objects such as pandas and ox. The tall narrow bamboo trees are quite unique and for anyone who has never seen these up close it's well worth a visit to this park. The park itself is located in Damyang which was not far from our hotel in Gwangju. The large Bamboo forest covers a massive area extending close to 25 acres where you'll notice both Koreans and foreigners enjoying hiking as the chief activity. From various points situated around the park you'll enjoy some of the best views of the city. Like most Korean parks this place is packed and if you came with idea you'd be having this place mostly to yourself the entire excursion will be a massive letdown. It's no surprise that this area has been a principle filming point for many famous Korean dramas. Many couples have carved their love onto the bamboo trees. We couldn't resist doing it as well Visiting the Damyang Bamboo Forest along with the Boseong Tea Plantations were two of the biggest highlights from our journey by train from Pyeongtaek to Gwangju. It provided for the perfect weekend getaway from all of the hustle and bustle of Seoul and Suwon. I highly recommend taking the time to visit the southern region of Korea which is often ignored by other foreigners and expats: http://nomadicsamuel.com/video-blog/bamboo-forest-in-damyang-korea Today we are in the city of Damyang and we are going to be visiting a bamboo park. You've made some new friends I see! I sure have. They have lots of very friendly pandas here at the bamboo forest. They look quite snuggle-y. It looks like you've made some friends as well? I just love hanging out with the ox. Nice! So aside from cheesy inanimate objects, the reason we're here is actually for the bamboo forest and the trees as you can see. Korean couples have put their names on the bamboo tree with a cute little love heart. We've found our own peaceful little spot, so we're just going to relax for a little bit now. As you can see the Koreans professing their love on the bamboo trees. Come down! So did we! S loves A. It is 360 time. We're going to give you a tour of the bamboo forest. Bamboo forest 360!
