A LOOK AT THE EGG FARM PHILIPPINES

1. wish i could visit your farm pop! do you sell ready to lay hens or chicks?
2. Hi pop im starting my business here in bacolod i have 200 hens as long as you manage it the right way you will have good number of eggs harvested daily and of course no smell
3. For those saying that this video is cruel, I am sorry, but The Phillipines is a very poor country, and not very technologically advanced, they cannot afford to have a better system to farm these eggs, but this is the only way that we can sustain ourselves and our families.
4. And I just came here from chickens who where able to run around a large green field and the eggs where collected from the comfortable beds where they could sleep happy. The way this was done was the quick way really cages just so you don't have to reach in the beds...this video is nothing like the nice green field with non cramped comfy beds.

13. Panoorin ako ng mga video mo palagi. If I have a criticism of the video it's for all the mga unanswered questions.
    Popzy seemed too surprised and impressed to do much more than gape.
    How long had they been in business? Where was the owner?
    Do they candle the eggs? What does that operation look like?
    What does the composing operation look like and the process of carcass disposal?
    Sort of a quick egg to grave picture.
    Do they all go the Barbeque stands on retirement?
    How do the maintain good egg layers?
    Do they keep records for good producers and work to increase those lines?
    What is the age (window) for the egg producers?
    How do they know when a chicken is taking am egg laying vacation?
    That happens when they get too old to lay?
    How profitable is the chicken business?  Cost/Profit  only in general terms.
    Do the workers/managers consider this a lot of work or a relaxed way of life?
    Have they ever have any health concerns in their animal colony?
    Do the workers protect their own health while working the plant?
    Do they do any health monitoring? (One infected bird can destroy the entire colony in a set up like that.)  Are they inspected regularly like in the US.
    What do they do in the case of a Typhoon?
    OH yeah, magkano para 12 mga itlog sa Phils?

    Also, I wish by now you will greet people with Kumusta kayo and Magandang umaga like a friendly kapwa-tao.

16. Tedd, I found this video very interesting. You are correct, everything was very neat and clean and well organized. Maintained by only 3 people? That is amazing that it's in such great condition.  The operation itself looks very operational. Every chicken has it's ample supply of water and food. The eggs are totally separate from the chicken and very easy for anyone to retrieve.  I also think it's very nice for you to be living so close to the egg farm that you can have fresh eggs everyday and anyday you want.  One thing I was wondering was the Price of the eggs?  I don't think you mentioned the price. The egg flats in the video look like 2 doz cartons? Can you buy just one or 2 eggs or do you have to buy them by the dozen?  I read the comments here, and I don't want to get into any controversy, each people is entitled to their own opinion.  At first when watching the video, I thought wow they are packed in there like sardines. But my feelings changed as I continued to watch. I began thinking this is not your own private backyard chickens. This is an operation.  And keeping that in mind, I saw very healthy chickens, in the cages and under them too. A clean concrete floor, Air controlled environment, plenty of food and water. Even though in our American minds they may looked cramped, everything looked very well cared for.  Good job on the video. On a side note, I love it when in your videos when you include letting us hear directly from the locals.... God Bless!
17. oh I think the cadges are fairy big compared to egg farms in Australia  nice size and that lot of eggs to per day I rember in one video  before Ted you had a lady selling all the eggs the hardware lady and she sells blocks to nice video thanks
18. For me it was nostalgic, when I was a child my uncle owned a poultry farm. But he raised chickens for meat not eggs. Thousands of chickens were housed in a similar fashion, they were clean and well fed and watered. Very humane treatment. I see a clean well run egg production facility, I would buy eggs there any day. Thanks for sharing. God bless!
19. Not good to see. Sorry Popz, but I can't agree with you that it's a great place...not for the poor chickens anyway. Interesting to see a factory farm in the Philippines is largely the same as the ones you get here in the UK. Animal welfare is a distant consideration and profit is the driving force unfortunately.
20. Yeah buddy you should have known better than to show that video on YouTube. Your good intentions will probably end in bad results for that poor farmer. My advice is delete the video before too many self righteous westren idealist see it!!!!!
