The opening was attended by Top officials of Negros Occidental Provincial government led by Governor Alfredo Maranon Jr, Vice Governor Bong Lacson, Board members, Government line agencies from DA, DTI, BOI, NCIP, etc and the private sectors represented by the countrys top chef and restaurateur a big supporter of organic in negros over the years Ms. Margarita Fores. The keynote speaker was no less than Usec. Bernadette Romulo Puyat, National Organic Agriculture Board Co-chair. She was accompanied by her father the former Senator and DFA secretary Bert Romulo. The festival also partnered with the Department of Education DepEd who spearheaded the 2nd day of the Organic Festival with different schools participating in different Games, Contest, Quiz bees, Cooking competition and folk dance. Over Hundreds of students and teachers all over the province from 10 School division took part in the activities. 3rd day featured the Indigenous Peoples Community. The different tribes compete in different games and contest including sack race, bow and arrow, cooking competition and more. in partnership with the National Commision on Indigenous People (NCIP) and Negros Cultural Foundation The Organic Festival has now been dubbed as the biggest Organic Festival in the country and probably southeast asia.
