My family in Canada did a different thing with old tires other than described in #1. The would cut the bead side on one side of the rim, pull the tire back around the wrong way so the inside of the tire is now outside, the top looks sort of like a star, and with something to keep the dirt from falling through the inside of the rim, use it as a planter outside.

Yeah, everyone "must" paint rainbows on their windshield. There were some terrible ideas on this list but that one takes the cake. Unless of course you're a ten year old trying to find new ways to prank your parents.... and possibly risk everyones lives in the process.
