On the 19th of July in 2011 the National Press Club of Australia held a debate on climate change. I will be analysing the claims Monckton made during the debate and if they are correct or not. Global warming isn't real because GMOs are safe. And I guess evolution is fake because of gravity.

You really only have to ask yourself, How do you know he is lying and the obvious answer is that his lips are moving.

I'm wondering if the only purpose of mentioning GM is to attack some of the more biased groups that are proponents of AGW, such as Greenpeace, who actively (and physically sometimes) attack the science of GMOs. Honestly though, it's rather difficult to ascertain ANY of Monckton's motivations.

He can't help himself from lying, even when he's saying something that's mostly true. The evidence we've got suggests that GM crops are at least as safe as traditional varieties and have done wonders since their invention even if the date he poses is slightly off. I guess when his corporate masters don't profit from a lie, they don't pay him to lie. However, lying must have become a habit so he snuck a little one in.
