101 East - The Rise of India's superbugs
In India's neonatal hospital wards they struggle for life - sick infants battling untreatable "superbugs" . Tens of thousands of them lose their lives every year. This is the frontline in the fight against antibiotic-resistant bacteria, one of the most serious threats to global health of our time, according to the World Health Organization. India consumes more antibiotics than any other country. Coupled with poor sanitation and overcrowding, the nation is the perfect breeding ground for antibiotic-resistant bacteria. 101 East investigates how India is becoming a hotbed for superbugs and how it is leading the fight to curb this global menace. The conditions in which these women are delivering babies is just so awful and heart breaking, makes me so angry! These women are delivering the next generation of a nation, they should be treasured by society and the government.

humans created the superbugs through their misuse of antibiotics. now it's time to pay the piper. this is actually a good thing because India is so overpopulated and perhaps we could be lucky enough but the same problems would happen in China. best thing that can happen as we lose 5 billion people. especially the one percenters.

moral of the story: If you are poor, don't fcking give birth

somebody saw the rat?
-
I believe these 'superbugs' were developed in a lab. It has nothing to do with over use of antibiotics unless those antibiotics contained the superbug.

you can't fool the Nature, increasing population without improving sanitary conditions and overall quality of life in the country
development must proceed in balance, and technology be counterbalanced by philosophy, legislation and management, you don't resolve problems or facilitate progress by simply giving advanced technologies to primitives
these backward countries are using 20th-21st century achievements while residing in the 19th century and having matching mentality and attitudes, not much good can come out of it -
The comment section is as toxic as always. Germs, virus and bacteria don't discriminate. It doesn't care what Gods or God you believe, it doesn't care if you have children, money or fame, it doesn't care if you are a king an emperor a politician, the best or the worse human being in the world. You can't reason with it, you can't talk to it and if you have it, you can't wish it away.
It infects you and kills you all the same. -
